Ehud was the second of the 12 judges who led the Israelites during a time of need. The first was named Othniel. The most famous judge today is probably Samson, and his story was used to conclude the Book of Judges. WebJudges begins by observing a cycle of religious experience that marks the book. This cycle is the way that the author has arranged each of the major judges and while the accounts of each judge are quite different, the basic elements of the cycle are given visibility. I have divided the cycle into five stages using “R” words for easier recognition.
